The tree was mine until I traded it with Honza.

LB session & pinus nigra group progression

Last weekend we met at my place in Rožnov in order to spend a saturday working on trees and discussing bonsai news. Almost all Leaf Brothers attended + two more young bonsaist, Sasha and Kuba from Havířov, paid us a visit.

Checking possibilities on a small sabina.

Zkoumání menší sabiny.

Maybe this angle of planting? (the tree was later worked a little bit, the foliage was trimmed and some shari on the trunk was opened, its progression will be posted in future)

Že by tato pozice? (strom byl následně prostříhán, byly odstraněny nepotřebně větve a založeno shari na kmeni, vývoj stromu bude zdokumentován)

And then, I re-styled this black pine group planting.

Já jsem ten den přetvarovával tuto skupinku borovic černých

Before and after, well the first photo was taken in 2007, the second is the final result so far.

All these black pines came from nursery, but they were bought many years ago, at the beggining of the 90´s, by my father and later on just cultivated. The height of the main tree is 95 cm, the pot was made by czech potter Hugo Studeník. The whole photo progression can be seen on my personal website.

Fall colours in Northern Moravia

Fall has arrived to our bonsai garden and first decidous trees and larches are starting to turn yellow and red, have a quick look to some of our autumn-coloured bonsai trees...

height: 30 cm, tree in training for a couple of years, ready to be styled next year

Berberis thunbergii "The Slug"/Dřišťál "Šnek"
height: cca 50 cm, quite an old & promissing piece of material, repotted in previous years, ready to be styled next year
výška: okolo 50 cm, velmi starý a nadějný strom, připravený na tvarování příští rok

Larch forest with mushrooms :-). The tallest tree reaches a height of more than 1 meter.
Modřínový lesík s houbami, hlavní strom kompozice je vyšší něž 1 m.

Carpinus betulus/Hornbeam/Habr obecný

Big deciduous forest - 90 cm high, 160 cm wide - mixed group planting of hornbeams and beeches.
Velký listnatý lesík - 90 x 160 cm - habry + buky.

Cotoneaster kusamono.

Another euonymus. 28 cm high.
Další brslen, 28 cm.
Viburnum opulus/Kalina obecná, 27 cm

Larix/Larch/Modřín, 55 cm
first which has turned yellow, the rest of larches still keep their summer colour

And the hornbeam once again, height: cca 90 cm
A ještě jednou stejný habr, výška: přes 90 cm

One of my personal hornbeam favourites. The tree collected more than 5 years ago still needs at least 5 more years to start looking decent. Luckily, I am not hurry, not at all...
Jeden z mých habrových favoritů. Strom byl vykopán před více než 5 lety, bude mu ale určitě trvat ještě minimálně dalších 5 let, než začne konečně vypadat k světu. Ještě, že nikam nespěchám...

The progression of many of the trees above can be seen in my personal webpage www.bonsairoznov.cz - category Bonsai story.
Vývoj mnoha z výše uvedených stromů můžete nalézt na mé osobní stránce v sekci Bonsai story.

Bonsai weekend in Italy, 1 - 2 October - Trip to mountains

The day before the grand opening of the exhibition we took advantage of few free hours and made a trip to the mountains that surround Feltre. Well, it wasn´t as close as it seemed, the way up to the mountains took us almost one hour and half of driving, however, the experience was more than worth it. Below you can see few glimpses from the sunny friday morning high in the mountains top.

Bonsai weekend in Italy, 1 - 2 October - Bonsai exhibition in Feltre

The last day of our bonsai trip to Italy we had a chance to visit the bonsai exhibition of Feltre Bonsai club. The exhibition was situated in the historical center of this beautiful town. As you can see from enclosed photos, the quality of trees was on the highest level. Not only Mauros trees, but also trees from other members of Feltre club have a good quality.

Během posledního dne našeho výletu do Itálie, jsme měli možnost navštívit výstavu pořádanou bonsajovým klubem městečka Feltre.

We love Carlos :o). It was honour for us, guys!
